FBC Gallatin,
I preached the Philippians 4 sermon “Pray When Anxious” at the beginning of May because there were so many moving parts in our church and in my family that we all needed help from God’s Word to navigate the uncertainty and change. And a lot has changed since my April 2026 Newsletter update, and God is still in control with all the moving parts! Please know that none of this is a surprise to God, and we can pray about all our anxieties in the uncertainties of life and He will give us peace through it all!
Regarding all the change, last month, we announced that 3 Elder candidates had been voted on and all 3 of them were approved by the congregation to serve as Pastor/Elder/Overseers of FBC Gallatin alongside pastor Daniel! All that is wonderful and exciting, but some new moving parts and change led to a delay of our installation that was previously scheduled for 4/26/26 because of some moving parts in the life of our church.
Specifically, the Pelichowski family announced and shared with all the members of the church in their homes (4/26-5/1) that we had recently begun a new full time ministry job search due to the current financial non-viability of FBC Gallatin continuing to support a full time pastor long term, but that we needed to move to a part-time bi-vocational provision like most other churches in our association and surrounding associations in our area. Many churches have gone through this transition, and it’s not a bad thing at all, but the change and big update led the Elders to realize that we needed to postpone the installation to a later date for everyone to process this big change.
I am pleased to be able to announce that the rescheduled date of the Pastor/Elder installation has been set for July 19th which is the Sunday leading into VBS and we are looking forward to an encouraging celebration installing and ordaining 2/3 of the currently elected Elders! As you all know, there is of course another aspect of change regarding the Elders that we all need to trust the Lord through, and that is the reality that one of our candidates is not moving forward to installation, but has felt called to withdraw from the installation portion due to many moving parts and considerations about what is best for his family. We all love and support all the candidates and their families regardless of whether or not they are moving forward, and we pray for their flourishing and good through it all, and that is where the peace of God factors in so importantly from Philippians 4:7! Let’s see it for ourselves starting with verse 6: "6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus".
Even with all this change, and all the moving parts, and uncertainty through it all regarding the unknowns of the future, we all just need to remember to pray when we’re anxious to find help from our infinite God who has no limits and is never surprised and who alone can provide the real peace that we all need!
We are praying and finding this help as a family, and all of us have been getting fresh grace and peace from God on a day to day basis in our search process which admittedly can be a roller coaster at times… Also, I know all the Elder candidates and their families are finding peace through their own roller coaster of a process as well! Keep praying for them! Furthermore, the whole entire congregation of FBC Gallatin with all the moving parts and future unknowns, have also no doubt been needing help and hope and peace from God as well, and I think we all just need to pause in this season and remember to pray when anxious together!
As we head off to Florida for vacation and the SBC annual convention, Stacy and I and the kiddos are praying for you all, and we appreciate the love and prayers you have lifted up for us as we navigate the unknown future finding help from our sovereign God!
Sincerely,
Pastor Daniel Pelichowski
