FBC Gallatin,

I am going to cut to the chase and do what I have done now for the last 5 January Newsletters and that is to remind you that you need more than your three-square meals a day to survive in the Christian life. As Jesus tells us in Matthew 4:4 in his very important quote of Deuteronomy 8:3 in the OT; “man shall not live on bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” You will slowly die spiritually if you do not heed Christ’s words in 2024…

So take up and read, don’t neglect the Word! Read it throughout the year and consider joining many of us on the YouVersion Bible App that keeps your progress and gives you the all important notifications for continued reading! Come to church and hear the Word preached! You need it, I need it, we all need it! The Word of God is living and active as Hebrews tells us, will you live in 2024 like you believe that to be true? If so, take up and read more scripture this year.

This also relates to the recent church goals pastor’s report I preached last week 12/31 and fits in nicely to the first and primary goal of growing in the Scriptures in a new year!
